After much nagging at the management we finally managed to bag a set of new iMacs for the developer team at WAA. Previously we had all been working on a selection of relic machines such as G4 & G5 Towers, and even a G4 iMac (the robot arm style one), so these new machines were very welcome.
Since they arrived we have been amazed by the amount of extra space we have on our desks let alone the shear power of the actual machine. Some of the software we use includes Adobe Photoshop, TextMate, Parallels for windows virtualisation, and the all important Firefox, which the new iMac copes with with ease.
The new style aluminium keyboard makes coding very easy and the mighty mouse saves so much time by being able to assign features like 'Spaces' in leopard to the squeeze buttons on the side of the device.
All in all, its a fantastic all round machine that is perfect for the 21st century developer who requires the power to be able to carry out several tasks simultaneously throughout the day.
